This morning I finished up all the laundry. Yeah!
Once a month our church serves a meal to the homeless (at another church) and it was our day to go. JK really didn’t want to go and was complaining about it. I spoke to her about how she is really serving the Lord by doing this and asked her what the Lord would have her do. She agreed that she needed to have a cheerful attitude even if it was something she didn’t feel like doing.
After serving we came back home and did school. More decimals! We only did Language Arts and Math today. I forgot to do our read alouds first this morning and we didn’t get a chance this afternoon. Lord willing, tomorrow we’ll have an hour or two of reading and snuggling on the couch.
JK bought a skateboard and showed me some tricks she’s been learning. The weather was wonderful this afternoon and I could have stayed outside all day.
When dh got home, he decided to order pizza since I was going to be going to a wedding shower and eating dinner there. I had just about started cooking when he said he would rather order pizza. Yeah! I love to cook but sometimes it’s nice to have someone else do it 🙂
I’m learning how to make cards using rubber stamps and I made one for my shower gift tonight. It’s really a lot of fun. Tomorrow I’m going to make some Mother’s Day cards for my mom and sister and a birthday card for my mom and dad; their birthday is on the same day.
I didn’t get around to cleaning the bathrooms, though. That will have to wait until tomorrow.
Found a neat little poem that I’ve added to my signature line on my e-mails:
“Stay, stay at home, my heart, and rest;
Home-keeping hearts are happiest,
For those that wander they know not where
are full of trouble and full of care;
To stay at home is best.”
~ Longfellow ~
Tomorrow we’ll stay at home.
