Happy Birthday….to me!

Today is my 49th birthday and it was wonderful. As soon as I woke up this morning, JK was in my room with a card and presents! She is so sweet. She bought me a new cutting board and a thermometer for my oven. I needed both. My older two said “happy birthday” but that’s about it. JM didn’t even remember until dh told him but that’s ok. JL told me she has a present for me and will give it to me later .

Today was our usual “lunch bunch” with some of the ladies at church so I went to lunch at a nice restaurant. I had a turkey bacon club that was very good. These ladies are introducing me to all these neat eateries in the area and it’s been fun. My favorite part is the fellowship! It is so nice to just sit and chat and catch up on what everyone is doing.

After lunch I did some errands while I was out (saving gas!!) and then headed home where I took a nice 30-minute nap. Oh that felt so good! Then JK and I did school. Division is so frustrating to her but I keep on encouraging! She gets the answers correct but not as fast as she would like! When my dh came home, he took me out to dinner and a movie.

Wow–I didn’t have to make lunch or dinner. Now that’s what I call a great birthday!!
Seriously, I’m so thankful for the family the Lord has given me and for the fact that I am His child. The fact that He would choose me, wretched sinner that I am, is just amazing……….

And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain—
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

’Tis mystery all: th’Immortal dies:
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love divine.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore;

Let angel minds inquire no more.

He left His Father’s throne above
So free, so infinite His grace—
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,

For O my God, it found out me!

Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray—
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,

I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.

Still the small inward voice I hear,
That whispers all my sins forgiven;
Still the atoning blood is near,
That quenched the wrath of hostile Heaven.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Savior in my heart.
I feel the life His wounds impart;

I feel the Savior in my heart.

No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
