Wednesday Here At Home

The temperature is about 84 right now and fall shows no signs of coming. I did notice a few (a very few) trees are starting to turn but most of them are still green. It just hasn’t been cool enough in the evenings! Summer has gone on long enough this year.

JK had art class today in a neighboring county. As I was driving on a very busy road, my car died. It just stopped! Fortunately, I was able to turn off into a parking lot. It is so hard to steer without power steering! I called my hubby who was still home and he came and fixed the problem. A battery cable came loose (or something like that). Normally he wouldn’t be home that late but he was driving to Virginia Beach today so he didn’t have to go into the office. Praise the Lord for His provision and for my hubby!

We got to art class just as they were setting up. Whew! I thought we were going to be late. Today’s picture was a sailboat on the water and it turned out really well. JK was excited to see her friends again because the class hasn’t been held since spring due to the teacher’s illness. But she is well and the class is on again. The class is from 9:00 to 12:30 so I had the morning free. I thought I would do some errands but I came home and cleaned instead. How exciting!

After I picked her up it was time for school. The fractions are getting harder this week as she is learning about improper fractions, adding and subtracting unlike fractions, renaming, etc. Happy, happy, joy, joy!! She does get frustrated at times but in today’s lesson she did very well and that made a big difference. Right now she’s upstairs working on a report about Mars for her notebook.

She doesn’t know it but when she’s finished I’m taking her to see the new Wallace and Gromit movie. It should be fun!

What say you?
