Something unusual is happening here at home today. I am alone! My dh and youngest daughter left a little while ago to go to NJ. My husband’s family lives there (mine, too) and he is going to visit until Monday. Julianne is looking forward to visiting with her cousins. I just checked the weather up there and it is cold and snow is expected this weekend. I hope they have a good time whatever they do.
I have lots of work to do around here so I’ll have plenty to keep me busy. I am planning on going thrift shopping either this afternoon or tomorrow so I’m looking forward to that. The first order of business, though, is to catch up on chore around here.
I did want to let you know about two wonderful, unexpected blessings that happened this week. Well, I’ve had lots of blessings from the Lord but these were special ones! First we received a check for a large amount of money from…..we don’t know! On the outside of the envelope was written “A gift from the Lord”. I made a copy of the check, wrote “God is faithful” on it and hung it up on our bulletin board. A daily reminder that He will take care of our family.
The second blessing came yesterday when Michael’s brother, Joe, in NJ was talking to someone and somehow the topic of drums came up. Jared has been trying to sell his drums for a while and this friend of Joe’s will be buying the drums this afternoon! God is good!!
It is so neat to see how God works in these situations. I will admit that I do not always trust as I should but He sends these little reminders that He is always faithful and He cares for me if I will just seek Him first in my life. Trust and obey–for there’s no other way–to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey!
Thank you, Lord, for all you do in my life. It’s all good!!! (Romans 8:28)
