Still Around

I know I haven’t posted lately and wanted to say that I am still around but busy. Julianne is an assistant for our church’s Backyard Bible Clubs this summer so I have been driving her to and from the various club locations. Our last club was Friday. She did a great job of telling the missionary story each day, playing games, helping the main teacher, etc. I’m very proud of her!!
We also served at the homeless ministry this week on one of the hottest days of the year. Even though the kitchen isn’t air conditioned we were thankful for the fans that were blowing the heat away. We served almost 100 men, women and children! It is such a blessing to be able to serve the Lord in this way.

On the 21st I will be going back to babysitting two days a week. I am also going to be homeschooling the little boy. He will be turning 5 in November but he’s not ready for kindergarten so I’ll be teaching him numbers, letters, colors, shapes, etc. I’m going to use the preschool workbooks from Rod and Staff. These books are so sweet and such a gentle way to introduce “school”. I’m looking forward to using them again. I have all the ones that Julianne did put away to look at again when I’m old :-)!!!!

I’m feeling a little pressure to get all my summer projects accomplished before I start working. Julianne will be taking a math and science class this year at a local homeschool co-op. Thankfully it is on the same days that I work and in the same general area. I will be able to drop her off and then go to work. I’m still working out the details about picking her up from school.

I will probably continue to be a little scarce around here while I work on lesson plans for Julianne, finish up my summer projects and prepare for the coming season of work and routine. More on that later……..

  1. Elaine,We like R&S too. We just started using their curriculum this year. I’m glad to hear other Mom’s who enjoy it too. One of the things that drew me to your blog was your book list. You have at least 5 books that I have read, own or want to own. I tried to buy Damsels in Distress at church but when I returned to the book room their only copy was sold! It is the only book of Martha Peace’s that I have not read. If you do read it I would be interested in knowing your thoughts about it. It sounds like an excellant book to have on my shelf. We shall see. Blessings to you.

  2. April,My friend, Trish, and I meet weekly for a Bible study. Right now we are going through Damsels in Distress. We are only a few chapters into it but it’s very good and very convicting as all of Martha’s books are. Even though we are not finished, I would highly recommend it for your bookshelf!

What say you?
