This week has been a busy one! School started back and so did carpooling. I’m so grateful for the other mom, Kathy, who shares carpooling duties with me. I only have to drive to Powhatan (about 22 miles round trip) once a week. That really saves on gas; which I just noticed is creeping higher each day.
Michael finished painting the spare room for Jessica and I have been getting it ready. I’m about to go upstairs now to vacuum and steam clean the carpet. I bought curtains yesterday so those will go up tomorrow. I thought I would have a couple of months to get this room ready as a guest room and here I have only a few days to get it ready for Jessica. The Lord definitely had other plans than the ones I thought! 🙂
One of my least favorite things about our house is the dust. I don’t know if it’s just us or if everyone has this problem, but our house is so dusty! Now that we have wood floors it shows up even more. I sweep and I also “swiffer” but it seems like it’s right back the next day. I’ve started using a very slightly damp sponge for dusting furniture. It seems to have helped but I was still getting frustrated with all the dust bunnies floating around on my floor. It seems they appear hours after I’ve done the floors. Well, yesterday I bought a steam cleaner for my floors. I’m hoping this will help. I haven’t used it yet but I’ll give a review when I do.
Tomorrow night we get back into the swing with our Fellowship Group. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and discussing our current study. We are still reading “Respectable Sins” and this week’s study is selfishness. Oh boy! Did that chapter really hit home! I decided to make a vegetable beef soup for tomorrow night and it turned out really well. You can find the recipe at my other blog, Serving Recipes at Home.
We have been very cold here as has the rest of the country. I wonder what happened to global warming?? Haha! We even had a dusting of snow this morning which prompted the public schools to give a two-hour delay. I’m not sure why they did that since our streets aren’t even covered…..it’s barely a dusting. I guess the kids and parents are happy to sleep in!
I would love to hear about your week……would you care to share?
